These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are the contract between you and SC SITEMILE SRL for the use of BuildAResume1 (buildaresume1.com). Please read them carefully. By creating an account you confirm that you have read and accept them.
1. Who we are
BuildAResume1 is operated by SC SITEMILE SRL, a company registered in Romania, registered office: Str. Vasile Bideac nr. 4A, Chitila, Ilfov County, Romania, Trade Register no. J2012002424236, VAT number RO30584106 (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at info@buildaresume1.com or through our contact form. Full company details are on the Legal notice page.
2. The service
BuildAResume1 is an online tool that lets you:
- create and edit resumes (CVs) in your browser, with a live preview;
- choose between several resume templates, colours and fonts;
- add a profile photo;
- import an existing resume from a PDF or Word (.docx) file;
- download your resume as a PDF file (paid plans).
We do not write, check or send your resume to employers, and we do not guarantee that a resume made with BuildAResume1 will lead to an interview or a job.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- Give a real email address and keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity in your account; tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to it.
- One person per account. Accounts may not be shared, resold or created automatically.
- You can delete your account at any time in Account settings. This permanently deletes your resumes and photos and cancels an active subscription.
4. Free use and paid plans
Creating an account, editing and previewing resumes and the basic import are free. Downloading resumes as PDF and the smart (AI) import require a paid plan:
| Plan | Price | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | €9.99 per month | Charged every month until cancelled. New customers can start with a 7-day trial for €3 (once per account); after the trial the plan continues automatically at €9.99 per month unless you cancel before the trial ends. |
| Yearly | €79 per year | Charged once a year until cancelled. |
Prices are in euro and include VAT where VAT applies. The price, the billing period and the renewal date are shown before you pay and in your account. Current prices are always listed on the Pricing page.
The smart import is limited to 5 imports per day per account to keep the service fair for everyone.
5. Payment
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- By subscribing you authorise us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
- If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it for a short period. During that time you keep access; if payment still fails, the plan ends.
- Invoices and receipts are sent by email and are available through the billing portal in your account.
6. Price changes
We may change prices for future billing periods. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect; the new price never applies to a period you have already paid for.
7. Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel at any time in Account settings → Subscription → Cancel subscription, without giving a reason and without any fee. Your plan then stays active until the end of the period you already paid for (or, during the trial, until the trial ends) and is not renewed. Cancelling does not delete your account or resumes.
8. Right of withdrawal (14 days) and refunds
If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of buying it, without giving any reason. You can do this with the “Withdraw from contract” button in your account, by email, or with the model form. We go further than the law requires: we refund the full amount you paid under that contract (including the €3 trial fee), even though you have already used the service. All details are in our Refund & withdrawal policy, which is part of these Terms.
9. Your content
- Everything you enter or upload (text, photo, files) remains yours. You give us only the permission needed to store, process and display it so we can run the service for you. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
- We do not publish your resumes, do not sell your data, and do not use your resume content for advertising.
- You are responsible for the content you add. It must be accurate to the best of your knowledge and must not infringe anyone’s rights. Only add another person’s personal data (for example a reference) if you are allowed to share it.
- Please keep your own copy of important resumes. Although we take care to keep the service reliable, we cannot guarantee that data will never be lost.
10. Smart import (AI)
When you use the smart import, the text of the file you upload is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to be sorted into the sections of your resume. The result is generated automatically and may contain mistakes — always review the imported resume before using it. The uploaded file itself is not stored by us. More details are in the Privacy policy.
11. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service for anything illegal, fraudulent or misleading (for example fake identities or forged qualifications);
- upload malware, or content that is hateful, harassing or infringes copyright;
- try to access other users’ data, overload, scan, scrape or attack the service, or bypass usage limits, payment or security measures;
- resell the service or use automated means to create accounts or content.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules. Where possible we will warn you first and give you the chance to download your data. If we close a paid account without a breach on your part, we refund the unused part of your subscription.
12. Our intellectual property
The software, designs, resume templates and texts of BuildAResume1 belong to us or our licensors. You may use the templates to create resumes for yourself (including for job applications), but you may not copy, sell or redistribute the templates or the software. Fonts and open-source components are used under their own licences.
13. Availability and changes to the service
We aim for the service to be available at all times, but short interruptions for maintenance or for reasons outside our control can happen. We may improve or change features; if a change significantly reduces what you pay for, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel and receive a refund of the unused part of your subscription.
14. Legal guarantee
As a consumer you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital services (EU Directive 2019/770, implemented in Romania by Government Emergency Ordinance no. 141/2021). If the service does not work as described, contact us and we will fix it, or, if we cannot, reduce the price or refund you.
15. Liability
We are fully liable for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury, and wherever the law does not allow liability to be limited. Otherwise our liability for ordinary negligence is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract and, in total, to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the damage occurred. We are not responsible for decisions made by employers or third parties based on your resume. Nothing in these Terms limits your mandatory rights as a consumer.
16. Personal data
We process your personal data as described in our Privacy policy and Cookie policy.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when the law or our features change. We will tell you about important changes by email or in your account at least 30 days before they apply. If you do not agree, you may cancel your subscription and delete your account before the changes take effect; if you have paid in advance, we refund the unused part. The version in force is always published on this page with its date.
18. Applicable law and disputes
- These Terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country.
- Please contact us first — most problems can be solved quickly.
- Consumers in Romania can also contact the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC, anpc.ro) and use its alternative dispute resolution service (SAL). Consumers in other EU countries can get free help from the European Consumer Centres network.
- Disputes go to the competent courts of Romania; as a consumer you may also bring a claim before the courts of the country where you live.
19. Final provisions
If one provision of these Terms is invalid, the rest remains in force. These Terms are available in English; you can save or print them at any time from this page.
